In a dream vision I saw preparations for a great wedding feast underway. A woman walked around the tables and chairs being readied, expecting to be a guest at the wedding. She entered a section of the tent where other women prepared for the feast, and to her dismay she saw a beggar woman who had previously solicited from her. This beggar had never stopped asking for more, and had practically helped herself to what she wanted, expecting the other woman to pay. The woman had finally stopped aiding the beggar, after scolding her for impudence. The woman did not expect this beggar to be a guest at the wedding.
One of the leaders, who stood beside the beggar, asked the woman, “Are you here to help?”
“No,” said the woman. She expected to be an honored guest at the wedding, not a lowly server.
“Then get out!” ordered the leader.
Stunned, the woman stumbled out of the tent, wondering if she would be permitted to attend the wedding feast at all.
Only those who SERVE are guests at the Bridegroom’s Wedding Feast. If you are not currently serving the Lord, begin your service today!
Luke 14:7-11 (NIV) 7 When [Jesus] noticed how the guests picked the places of honor at the table, he told them this parable: 8 “When someone invites you to a wedding feast, do not take the place of honor, for a person more distinguished than you may have been invited. 9 If so, the host who invited both of you will come and say to you, ‘Give this person your seat.’ Then, humiliated, you will have to take the least important place. 10 But when you are invited, take the lowest place, so that when your host comes, he will say to you, ‘Friend, move up to a better place.’ Then you will be honored in the presence of all the other guests. 11 For all those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.”
